The Dojo: Brooklyn, is a music production and sound design school for producers and sound designers who want to take their craft to another level. The chief instructor (Sensei) is legendary super producer Ski Beatz. Ski will teach the art of production, which goes well beyond just making beats as well as the under appreciated art of sound design, which is a skill many beat makers and producers overlook. 

Music Production Class
Although, making beats is a fundamental skill for any producer, it's is just one step in the production process. During the classes you will learn how to use a beat to arrange and compose a full song. You will also learn the responsibilities of a producer, such as working with artists to execute the song's vision and direction. Ski has worked with the top artists in music, particularly hip hop, so he is willing to impart his vast experience on Dojo students. The ultimate goals of the production class are to turn beat makers into producers and to also help producers to take their art to higher levels. 

This class is for students who already have a basic knowledge of beat making and production, including the equipment and software. You may bring the hardware of your choice, but more importantly you must bring the desire and passion to master your craft.


Sound Design Class
Sound design is the process of specifying, acquiring, manipulating or generating audio elements. It is employed in a variety of disciplines including filmmaking, television production, theatre, sound recording and reproduction, live performance, sound art, post-production, radio and video game development. Sound design most commonly involves the manipulation of previously composed or recorded audio, such as sound effects and dialogue. In some instances, it may also involve the composition or manipulation of audio to create a desired effect or mood. A sound designer is one who practices the art of sound design.

Learning this particular skill will separate you from many of your fellow producers and beat makers. It will also allow you to create your own unique sound and push the boundaries of contemporary music and sound. It is very necessary skill to learn so you can standout amongst your peers who tend to use the same stock and preset sounds.
